The Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) will kickoff its year-long 25th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, Nov. 8, with Dick Ruddell, president of The T, helping his staff serve coffee and snacks to passengers, as well as distribute memorabilia from the agency’s history.

Since 1983, The T has expanded its service area from the mid-sized city that Fort Worth was then to multiple cities and government entities in Tarrant County – among the fastest growing U.S. counties with a population nearing 1.8 million.

The T’s year-long celebration will also include several other important activities, including a luncheon hosted by Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, with T. Boone Pickens speaking; a six-month “Text-to-Win" contest with participant prizes; and the announcement of the winner of a 25-year premium transit pass randomly selected from the Text-to-Win participants.
