W. Va. transit funds at risk due to 'urbanized area' designation

BECKLEY, W. Va. — Public transit in Raleigh and Fayette counties is at risk of losing state funding due to a new "urbanized area" designation, which was revealed by the 2010 census, reported The Register-Herald.

Local leaders are struggling to find a way to come up with the difference so that services can be maintained. One local official said a transportation levy may be a possible solution. For the full story, click here.
