BART unions sue over contract provision

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the two largest unions representing Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) employees filed a lawsuit on Tuesday, seeking to have a judge order the transit agency to abide by the tentative deal that was reached Oct. 21.

Union members ratified the tentative agreement. However, on Nov. 21, the BART board of directors approved only part of the deal, excluding a provision giving employees six weeks of paid family leave that they said they hadn't meant to include. For the full story, click here.
