WASHINGTON, D.C. — After being asked to run an ad with the Prophet Muhammad, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's (WMATA) board of directors voted to suspend issue-oriented advertisements until the end of the year while it studies its policy, AP reported.

Issue ads bring in approximately $2 million dollars annually, so suspending those kinds of ads for the remainder of the year could cost the agency approximately $1 million, according to WMATA. The agency said its decision had nothing to do with any particular ad. For the full story, click here.
