Nathan Maack has been named senior engineering manager in the Los Angeles office of engineering and professional services consultancy, WSP USA

In his new position, Maack is responsible for marketing and leading a variety of rail and transit engineering and planning projects in Southern California. He will also support other transportation and infrastructure initiatives, providing project and program management, preliminary and final engineering, and construction oversight.

Maack joined WSP from a large national infrastructure firm and has worked on a wide variety of local infrastructure projects in Los Angeles, including the Airport Metro Connector, the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, the Regional Connector, and California High-Speed Rail.

A licensed professional engineer in California and New Jersey, Maack has a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Rutgers University, and a Master of Science in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.    

WSP USA is active on capital projects throughout Los Angeles County, and for more than three decades, has contributed to the development of the public transit system of Los Angeles. WSP played prominent roles in the development of the Blue, Green, and Gold line light rail systems, the Red Line subway, and, most recently, phase 2 of the Expo Line light rail.

Currently, the firm is at work on the Regional Connector and the Purple Line Extension.
