Transdev, the private-sector provider of multi-modal mobility solutions, has named Charles “Doug” Brockwell to take over the GM position for the company’s operations contract at Denver’s Regional Transportation District. Transdev operates a portion of the RTD system that serves more than 100 million annual passenger trips on 125 routes.

Brockwell brings an impressive background from his recent position as GM of the transit operations in Imperial, Calif. where he managed a staff of 105 employees and a fleet of 70 vehicles. He also significantly improved operations and safety during his four-year tenure there. He increased daily on-time performance from 82% to 96%, reduced accidents by 30%, and reduced non-productive drive time by 22%. Brockwell was named the GM of the Year for his region in 2014 by his previous employer.

“Doug has a talent for getting the best from all of his employees. He is not only exceptional at operations, but as a former driver and maintenance manager he understands all aspects of the service and has championed improvements wherever he’s gone,” said Ron Bushman, Transdev’s Regional VP for the Northwest Region.

Transdev has operated a portion of Denver RTD’s bus service since 2005, and has worked to improve customer service, develop first-class maintenance practices and honor the RTD’s commitment to sustainable mobility solutions. The contract was renewed for an additional five years in 2014.
