The Southern California Transit Training Consortium (SCRTTC) has released a new course for management training titled: “Leadership Transition to a Management Position,” that will begin Sept. 17 at the Montebello Transit facility in Montebello, Calif.

The course will provide participants with a practical framework for understanding the changing roles, responsibilities and expectations for a new managerial position. Course participants will learn the importance of maintaining a balance between achieving results and developing people. The course has been designed to enhance and build upon the participants' current leadership abilities. Participants will also study the skills necessary to command respect, obtain commitment and earn credibility with employees.

The SCRTTC is a coalition of more than 30 transit operators, community colleges and other educational institutions in Southern California, joined together to develop industry driven, competency-based curricula that meet present and future technological needs of public transit systems.
