On Thursday, the American Bus Association (ABA) released an updated version of its "Save A Penguin: Take A Motorcoach" brochure, available at no charge online at www.buses.org/files/ABA_SavePenguin_fin.pdf, and for purchase as a high-gloss, FSC-certified brochure for only $1 a copy at the ABA Online Store by logging on to www.abaonlinestore.com/save-a-penguin-brochure.html

Changes to the eight-page brochure include incorporating new ABA Foundation data from updated reports and studies, showing that motorcoaches now achieve 206.6 passenger MPG (up from 184 in the previous brochure); quoting DePaul University Professor Dr. Joseph P. Schwieterman, PhD, regarding the revival of intercity bus travel; showcasing findings from the Union of Concerned Scientists' study "Getting There Greener" recommending motorcoach travel; as well as new coach photos and photos of group tours by coach to iconic bus destinations - not to mention new photos of penguins.

The first edition of the brochure exhausted a supply of 10,000 environmentally certified printed copies, as well as countless online downloaded versions. It was used by ABA members and others as an education tool for school groups, by operators meeting with state Departments of Environmental Quality, National Park Service officials, and on Capitol Hill, and was cited in media ranging from Roll Call to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
