Greyhound, ABC partner to refurbish coaches

Posted on June 21, 2010

[IMAGE]Greyhound-1.jpg[/IMAGE]Greyhound Lines Inc. and ABC Companies partnered to refurbish 250 Greyhound motorcoaches with new amenities including Wi-Fi, power plug-ins, leatherette passenger seating and extra legroom. Each refurbished bus will also be equipped with new wheelchair lifts and will reflect the new Greyhound exterior branding.

ABC Companies will refurbish Greyhound's MCI 102DL3 coaches at a Nappanee, Ind., facility strategically dedicated for this project. Both Nappanee and the facility are ideal choices based on the availability of skilled workers, suppliers and ample space, according to a joint release from both companies.

Greyhound and ABC Companies will be generating 120 jobs in the area specifically for this project, which is estimated to take 12 to 18 months to complete.

This current project is phase one in Greyhound's refurbishment plan. Greyhound operates a total of 2,200 buses serving more than 3,800 destinations across North America. More than 600 of its buses are 102DL3 coaches.
