GREENSBORO, N.C. — Federal authorities initially decided to shut down Charlotte, N.C.-based Sky Express discount bus service this spring for violating multiple federal safety regulations, but instead gave the carrier a 10-day reprieve, according to news-record.com.

On the third extra day, at about 5 a.m., Tuesday, the company’s Greensboro-to-New York bus overturned on Interstate 95 about 30 miles north of Richmond, Va. Four people were killed and dozens injured. For the full story, click here.
