Richfield, Wis.-based GO Riteway Transportation Group was awarded a Clean Fuel Champion Award from Wisconsin Clean Cities (WCC) this week during WCC’s 23rd Annual Stakeholder Meeting. The Clean Fuel Champion Award honorees are recognized for their use and implementation of clean fuel technologies.

GO Riteway was chosen for this award in recognition of their mission to promote cleaner air and energy security through alternative fuel development and related strategies.

For a number of years, GO Riteway has strived to be a leader in environmental sustainability within the ground transportation industry. “We established an Environmental Sustainability Program designed to harmonize our company with the environment,” said Ron Bast, chairman and family owner of GO Riteway. “The process of becoming more “green” is one that continuously evolves and by following our program we make positive differences to the environment step by step.”

Since 2010, GO Riteway has been a member and strong supporter of Wisconsin Clean Cities. A nonprofit organization serving the entire state of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Clean Cities is one of nearly 100 U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities coalitions. The coalitions partner with members in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to reduce dependence on imported oil in the transportation sector by promoting the use of alternative fuels and sustainable transportation options, thereby improving air quality and supporting local jobs and the economy.

Winners were selected from among Wisconsin Clean Cities members.
