OAKLAND — After noticing sparks come from a rear tire, a Greyhound driver quickly pulled over to the side of the freeway and got the passengers to safety before the vehicle erupted into flames, The Mercury News reports.

The bus fire caused a traffic jam on eastbound I-580 and prompted the closure of the freeway until the fire was fully extinguished. The driver and his eight passengers were headed to Los Angeles from San Francisco. The cause of the fire is under investigation. For the full story, click here.
