Starcraft Bus completes 25,000th bus

Company joined the shuttle bus industry in 1998 by building its first bus, the Allstar. Over the last several years, Starcraft Bus has introduced several new models including the Starquest, Ultrastar, Starlite, XLT, Xpress and Prodigy XP.

Duke U. chooses Transloc for bus tracking

Outfitted all of its buses with a GPS system, which will provide real-time arrival and location information to students, as well as automatic passenger counters. The system will also provide tracking information on other area transit systems, such as the Bull City Connector.

L.A. Metro approves agreement to hire more 'disadvantaged' workers

The Project Labor Agreement between the agency and the Los Angeles/Orange County Building Trades Council requires that 40% of work hours on Metro projects be done by workers who live in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods and 10% of the hours go to workers struggling with poverty. Many members of the public testified in favor of the plan.

Audit: UTA may not have rail extension funding

While local sales tax revenue provided the majority of the agency's $275 million budget in 2010, it’s not clear that the agency will have the revenue required to operate the commuter and light rail extensions, which are currently under construction.
