CATS buses get NASCAR stock wraps

Two CATS buses will get a custom wrap that looks exactly like a NASCAR stock car. The buses will also carry ticket information and logos for three NASCAR events taking place at the speedway in October.

The pilot invites the public to use a free online trip planner. Researchers are trying to determine whether commuters will use transit more often if they are provided with accessible, current and information-rich transit, parking and traffic options before they start their journeys.

SEPTA energy pilot to reduce emissions, generate $500K

A software optimization system will allow SEPTA to recycle the energy created from train and trolley regenerative braking at a propulsion substation, improving power quality, producing energy savings and generating revenues. The project will help SEPTA decrease its carbon emissions by 1,258 tons per year.
