Ohio transit proposes courtesy rules

Rules outline what is expected of passengers on buses and at SARTA’s facilities. If adopted, the Ohio Revised Code will allow penalties for violating the rules that could result in being removed or banned from all SARTA vehicles and facilities. Violators could also be criminally prosecuted.

UTC fuel cell reaches durability milestone

Three of AC Transit’s buses are equipped with the fuel cell systems and have now traveled more than 213,000 miles, with an average fuel economy that is 65 percent better than the control fleet of diesel buses running the same routes and duty cycles.

France adds Alstom trains in $188.4M order

The initial contract, signed in October 2009, totaled $1.1 billion for the supply of 100 Coradia Polyvalent trains. The first 119 trainsets will be distributed beginning in 2013, with the total number of trains potentially reaching 1,000 units and generating over $10 billion.

Plans include replacing and expanding fleet of locomotives and passenger railcars with the purchase of several hundred single-level and bi-level long distance passenger railcars and more than a hundred locomotives.
