The unique station design will include fast-fill dispensers for Santa Fe Trails, the city’s transit agency, as well as time-fill dispensers installed near-by at the city’s Environmental Services Division for its refuse fleet.
This will be the first deployment of off-grid solar-powered Electric Bus DC fast-charging and the first to offer a secure and renewable source of energy for charging during a grid interruption.
The contract is valued at approximately $150 million and covers a period of seven years.

The Walsh Fluor Design-Build Team, Chicago Rail Constructors, and the Kiewit Infrastructure Co. will submit design-build proposals for the project.
The new fares, if approved, are scheduled to last six months, until the end of the school year.
