BART worker costs rise as pay stays flat

While operating revenues climbed 11.5% in the last three years, its health care and pension costs rose nearly 35%. Meanwhile, worker salaries have remained roughly flat for more than three years. These expenses are also eating into money budgeted for upgrades to expand service.

Wabtec, Herzog to equip San Diego rail with PTC for $9M

Wabtec will provide its Interoperable Electronic Train Management System equipment and installation for seven locomotives and 10 passenger transit cab cars on North County Transit District’s Coaster train. Herzog Technologies was previously awarded a contract to implement PTC for the rail system.

HDR acquires Sharon Greene + Associates

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. HDR, Sharon Greene + Associates will operate as a strategic consulting organization, offering an extensive portfolio of financial planning, project finance and public-private partnership advisory services.
