Portland, Ore. to vote on rail spending

Voters in Oregon’s Clackamas County will decide on Ballot Measure 3-401, which would require county commissioners to get voter approval to spend money on new rail systems. If passed, the initiative could affect a light rail line currently under construction.

Amtrak ridership surges in 2012

Through 11 months of FY 2012, total Amtrak ridership is up 3.4% as compared to the same period last year. When the current fiscal year ends on September 30, Amtrak expects a new annual ridership record will be set, surpassing the current record of 30.2 million passengers established in FY 2011.

It allows for easy updates to track chart information by loading Amtrak’s in-house asset database data on the application server, which updates the electronic track chart records.

S.F. MTA approves New Flyer hybrid order

Production of the 40-foot Xcelsior hybrid buses is anticipated to begin in early 2013 and will be manufactured and assembled bumper-to-bumper in New Flyer’s St. Cloud, Minn. manufacturing facility. All buses are expected to be delivered by the end of the summer 2013.
