ROUSH supplied propane facility opens in Calif.

Recently awarded a contract by the Ventura County Transportation Commission to provide VISTA intercity bus service, Roadrunner Shuttle and Limousine Service will use the new facility for that operation and for storage of their propane autogas vehicle fleet.

Ann Arbor, Mich. five-year plan moves forward

Officially titled the “Five-Year Transit Program,” includes projected operating and capital expenses of the program that total nearly $223 million over the five-year period. The five-year expenditures would be offset by an estimated $184.2 million in revenue, resulting in a “gap” of $38.8 million.

DNC avoids RNC bus woes with N.C. light rail

Since Monday, attendees and other passengers boosted ridership on LYNX by 148% over a typical weekday. About 250 buses will be used to move nearly 6,000 delegates to DNC events. In Tampa, 400 buses were used to transport 2,200 RNC delegates, but several buses were late for state delegations.

LaHood calls on governors to meet new transit regs

Requires governors to strengthen and increase their oversight of public transit safety. Also requires that the FTA update the existing State Safety Oversight program to ensure that rail transit systems are meeting common-sense safety requirements and that the FTA adopt important new safety provisions for bus-only operators.
