D.C. Metro urged to improve late night bus service

Report says that service-industry workers heading home after 10 p.m. are often left behind by overcrowded buses and waiting longer than 30 minutes for buses that are scheduled to run about every seven minutes. The agency is working to double the number of extra-long buses on the route.

APTA: Public transit users save $9,700 yearly

Savings are based on the cost of commuting by public transportation, compared to the cost of owning and driving a vehicle, which includes the July 24 average national gas price ($3.48 per gallon- reported by AAA) and the national unreserved monthly parking rate.
