The orders to supply rail signaling, automation and telecommunications systems total around $132.6 million.

The contract, worth a total of $1.33 million, is for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the new line for the city of Honolulu, which will have 21 stations.

Will supply the infrastructure, including the electric supply systems; electrical substations; traction systems; intrusion and fire detection systems; tracks and platform screen doors to ensure passenger safety for Milan’s first automatic driverless metro line.

Bombardier Transportation will provide 100 multilevel vehicles to New Jersey Transit. Kawasaki Railcar Inc. is supplying Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority with 364 vehicles.

The agency will invest $10 million in beginning to replace approximately 400 Red Line track circuits, enabling it to run its trains in automatic mode. All 1,730 track circuits are slated for eventual replacement, at an estimated cost of $60.5 million.

Work involves the initial functional extension of the existing depot situated in the vicinity of Dinegro Station and is intended to prepare both the sheltered/shunting area and the maintenance workshop for the new 128-foot trains.

Will provide the diagnostic, monitoring, assistance and on-site maintenance of the onboard ERTMS level 2 equipments for 31 Trenitalia trains. Plans to provide electrification for Granada, Spain’s tramway system.

The project will entail the application of technology including ERTMS/ETCS and GSM-R, all of which Ansaldo STS has already supplied or is currently supplying in other countries, including Italy, Spain and Turkey.

This project, part of the LIRR East Side Access program, replaces the current vital relay-based interlocking control system with a MicroLok II vital microprocessor-based system.

The contract should be signed by Ansaldo STS, AnsaldoBreda and DORTS in early April, with work expected to begin by the end of 2015.
