S.F. Muni launches bike share program

The pilot includes 350 bikes and 35 stations in San Francisco as part of a 700-bike and 70-station regional unveiling. Bay Area Bike Share bikes are commuter-style bikes built to withstand constant use and resist theft.

U. of Mich., non-profit launch area bike share

The CEC has taken the lead on the project, securing a $700,000 grant from the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments. The university also plans to support operating funds in the first three years of the program.

U. of Mich. launches bike share program

The school says the rental program is a response to requests to make the campus more bike-friendly. Bicycles come with a helmet and a lock.
