Each new coach will feature a wheelchair lift and plush leatherette passenger seating for 50, compared to the typical 55-seat configuration for the D4505 model. This move will give riders significantly more legroom.

Orders are from both current and new customers and are for a variety of vehicle configurations and propulsion systems, including 35-, 40- and 60-foot buses with clean diesel, diesel-electric hybrid, gasoline-electric hybrid and compressed natural gas (CNG) propulsion systems.

Houston Metro is placing an additional order for 80 Orion VII diesel-electric hybrid buses for 2010 delivery. This compliments its existing fleet of 56 Orion VII hybrids, which were delivered in 2008, and the 40 units that will be delivered in 2009.
