Public input will be incorporated into a revised plan that will be formally presented to the MTA Board in September, before being submitted for final approval in Albany in October, as required by law. The federal dollars announced Wednesday will be used to purchase new equipment, including streetcars, buses, ferries, paratransit vans, clean fuel vehicles and railcars, as well as pay for the construction of new transit facilities, bus shelters, repair and maintenance of transit systems and safety and security equipment.
