Through the program, anyone searching Google Maps site for directions in Greater Louisville can plan a trip on TARC. By choosing the public transit option and entering desired travel times and locations, passengers are provided step-by-step directions on TARC for their specific trips.

During this initial phase, customers are encouraged to test the new online trip planner and provide feedback to BC Transit so this service can continually be improved and enhanced.

The Stamford CTTRANSIT service area is next in line to be put into the system. Waterbury, Wallingford and Meriden will come soon after.

The redesigned site includes a simpler presentation of DART's online trip planner, Google trip planner, real-time arrival information, stop locator, rider alerts, service advisories and social media.

The agency re-numbered and re-named five routes to work better with the Google Transit trip planner, effective with the May 29 summer service change.

As part of joining the program, its website now has the Google Transit Trip Planner widget. This widget makes it possible to input the departing and destination information and it will link over to the Google Maps page with the entire list of detailed trip planning information.

Google Transit on Google Maps is a public transportation planning tool that combines the latest BC Transit schedule and route information with the power of Google Maps.

Integrating Big Blue Bus information with the Google Transit database will be especially helpful for riders using more than one transit system to complete a trip.
