N.Y. permit system to regulate intercity buses

Penalties for intercity buses in violation of permit requirements or restrictions would consist of a fine of up to $1,000 for a first violation, up to $2,500 for repeat violations, and permit suspension or revocation.

N.Y. officials push to regulate intercity buses

Proposed legislation, which would impose stiff fines for violators, includes designating pick-up and drop-off locations, providing information about buses being used, number of passengers they are carrying and where the vehicles would be parked when not in use.
