Report: Natural gas bus, truck sales will reach 40K yearly by 2022

Driven by the lower cost of natural gas and the lower emissions from natural gas engines, compared to diesel fuel, operators of truck and bus fleets are increasingly shifting to natural gas vehicles. On average, the price of compressed natural gas is about 42% that of diesel.

Three companies invest $150M in Clean Energy

The $150-million investment is in the form of 7.50 percent convertible notes due in 2016. The notes will be convertible into shares of Clean Energy common stock at $15 per share. The closing of the investment is scheduled to occur on or before Aug. 30, 2011 and is subject to customary conditions.

Clean Energy receives Sun Metro LNG extension

The LNG fuel supplied is converted on site at Sun Metro facilities to compressed natural gas fuel, which powers the Sun Metro fleet of 200 transit and paratransit buses.

Over the next three years, the agency plans to deploy 452 new CNG buses and 200 CNG paratransit vehicles as replacements for its current fleet of liquefied natural gas and diesel-powered models that began service in 1998.
