Chicago’s Pace Suburban Bus ordered 13 Commuter Coaches, with an option for 37 more. Meanwhile, York County, Penn.’s rabbittransit took delivery of three new MCI Commuter Coaches, and Beaumont, Texas’ Sun Travel Trailways received its very first MCI J4500.

Company redesigned the model for 2013, giving it a taller look and stylish LED headlights. It also features more than 30 improvements, including brushless motors and an optimized, more fuel-efficient powertrain that can achieve nine miles per gallon at highways speeds.

Under the new structure led by Patrick Scully, there will be one key new coach sales contact representing MCI and Setra brands to both private and public sector customers.

New D4505 coaches will reflect the company’s updated look and come equipped with wheelchair lifts and digital amenities now available on all of its newer coaches.

Each vehicle is equipped with a wheelchair lift and an ACTIA multiplex system with an ergonomic driver dash and the latest clean-diesel engine technology for near-zero emissions.

New models come equipped with three-point passenger seat belts, wheelchair lifts, Wi-Fi, 110-volt and power outlets, GPS and Saucon Asset Tracking systems. Electronic stability control, SmarTire and a fire suppression system are standard safety features.

Brent Maitland will be responsible for promoting and communicating the “MCI Reliability Driven” and Setra corporate brand strategies in both the private and public sectors, using a variety of media, including print and electronic advertising and promotions.

Arrow Stage Lines received six J4500 coaches, two Setra S 417 models and an MCI D4505. Meanwhile, Cyr Bus received a new Setra Top Class S 417.

The Green Highway and Green Operator awards both have the support of the University of Vermont’s Certification for Sustainable Transportation program, led by David Kestenbaum, director, who is behind eRating, a certification program that recognizes sustainable forms of transportation.

As MCI marks its milestone anniversary, it is rededicating itself to building the most reliable coaches in North America.
