Officials believe Metrolinx’s The Big Move can cut 32 minutes from the average commute.

In fulfilling the contract, Stertil-Koni ‘s distributor serving the eastern region of Canada, Novaquip, delivered seven sets of the Stertil-Koni EARHTLIFT (consisting of six mobile columns per set) and nine in-ground piston lifts.

The station is part of the city's Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown Light Rail Transit system, a project that will connect riders from Black Creek Drive to Scarborough City Center.

TTC will operate the four Toronto LRT lines under contract with Metrolinx, while Metrolinx's private sector partner maintains the assets.

The 11 locomotives, originally built by MotivePower about five years ago, will be equipped with new engines and propulsion systems that meet significantly higher environmental standards.

At one point during negotiations, the strike threatened to halt commuter and intercity passenger services, since CN shares line with passenger carriers in several Canadian provinces.

GO Transit's Richmond Hill commuter rail service operates over a portion of CN's Bala Subdivision. Metrolinx is acquiring a segment of the subdivision as well as a segment of CN's Oakville Subdivision.

The contract price is $22 million for six DMUs and will be for the middle flat-nosed "C-Car", which connects both ends of the slanted nose "A-Cars."
