Will continue operation of the Access Services Northern Region paratransit contract based in Van Nuys, Calif. Access oversees curb to curb ADA paratransit service on behalf of its 43 Los Angeles County fixed-route member agencies. MV has been an Access transportation provider since 1999.

Company will continue to operate and maintain Irvine’s iShuttle. The new contract term began March 31 and will extend four base years with two one-year renewal options.

CountyLink, Peoria County’s popular rural transit system, will need to make several service reductions, including cutting four of its six full-time routes. Even with the cuts, the system is expected to run out of money in June.

Private Eyes will provide background checks and pre-employment screening for all future MV Transportation employees.

On-demand system in Peoria County that has seen ridership grow over the last 15 months expects to be in the red by March or April 2013. MV Transportation, which operates the service, may renegotiate its contract.

Company said it would save the county $16.7 million over five years.

The total estimated cost for both contracts is $43.4 million. The contracts are for five-year terms, with an option for two additional years.

MV is based out of CCRTA’s current operations and maintenance facility in South Dennis, Mass., and provides service to all of Cape Cod. The fleet consists of nearly 100 vehicles and completes approximately 540,000 trips per year.

R. Carter Pate joined the company as its new CEO in August. Pate comes to MV with more than 33 years of consulting, management and executive leadership experience spanning the full spectrum of business operations and finance in both the public and private sectors.
