This marks the third consecutive order placed by CNYTRA. In 2009, 18 Orion VII CNG buses were delivered to Syracuse, N.Y.

Two newly manufactured Orion VIIs hosting a variety of new features and options will be on display. Manufacturer will also showcase its testing and validation programs that prove a better built bus.

Orion stated that the Allison Hybrid H 40 EP is now being quoted for active bids and will be available in 2011.

Four transit agencies received Orion VII CNG buses. Vehicles feature a low-floor design that optimizes safety and comfort and a frame designed specifically for the extra weight of the CNG fuel tanks.

The Orion VII features the integration of the next generation of clean engines to meet the 2010 EPA standards, as well as additional customer design enhancements.

NYCT and MTA Bus boast a fleet of 1,679 hybrid buses, including a total of 1,675 diesel-electric hybrid transit buses from Daimler Buses - comprising more than 99 percent of its hybrid fleet.

The Orion VII buses have a high passenger capacity, wide doors, a low-floor design and a kneeling feature that make boarding easy and fast to maintain service efficiency.

DART, with a fleet of more than 150 buses, operates the largest mass transit service in the state of Iowa, serving the entire metro Capital region including its 19 cities and towns.

Houston Metro is placing an additional order for 80 Orion VII diesel-electric hybrid buses for 2010 delivery. This compliments its existing fleet of 56 Orion VII hybrids, which were delivered in 2008, and the 40 units that will be delivered in 2009.

Additional orders for Orion VII transit buses include the purchase of 75 Orion VII clean-diesel buses by Veolia Transportation for its service for the New Orleans Transit Authority and an additional 30 Setra S 417 motorcoaches and 15 Sprinter shuttle buses for its services in San Francisco.
