Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) is asking for a route that connects the future Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island with tech hubs in Queens and Brooklyn to accommodate New York’s tech boom.

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer (D- NY) calls for letter grade system, similar to notices used for New York City restaurants, that would indicate the overall safety record of each bus company at the point of ticket purchase.

New York Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles E. Schumer said they would co-sponsor motorcoach safety legislation recently reintroduced by Sen. U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), while Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) called on the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Ray LaHood to move forward in implementing safety measures outlined in DOT's Motorcoach Safety Action Plan.

Contract requires supplier to provide the Nova LFS buses in three different configurations, to assess the various transmission and cooling technologies available.

Set to expire at the end of the year, the measure enables employees with monthly mass transit fees to deduct up to $230 from their paychecks, tax-free, through an employer benefit program.
