Under the new structure led by Patrick Scully, there will be one key new coach sales contact representing MCI and Setra brands to both private and public sector customers.

Brent Maitland will be responsible for promoting and communicating the “MCI Reliability Driven” and Setra corporate brand strategies in both the private and public sectors, using a variety of media, including print and electronic advertising and promotions.

As MCI marks its milestone anniversary, it is rededicating itself to building the most reliable coaches in North America.

Also announced that Lee Kemp is joining its Public Sector Team as business development manager, Southern Region.

The move follows the recent acquisition of the U.S. and Canadian distribution rights for Setra motorcoaches from Daimler Buses, where Scully was formerly chief commercial officer.

Obtains responsibility for sales and service support of Setra S 417 and Setra S 407 motor coach models; the company’s pre-owned coach inventory; the distribution of Setra and related genuine Daimler Buses parts; and the operations of Setra’s service center in Orlando, Fla.

The move to partner for distribution with MCI was announced as part of Daimler Buses’ reconfiguring of its bus business in North America and the “Globe 2013” initiative. Daimler also announced that it will exit the transit bus business and wind down Orion transit bus production after fulfillment of current orders.

The active system improves handling safety and stability and is based on the electronic ABS advanced anti-lock braking system, which optimizes braking force. It is now standard on all S 417 and S 407 vehicles.

This marks the first delivery of the new North American ComfortClass from Setra, a brand of Daimler.

With the Maryland Terp as a focal point, the exterior livery combines the familiar university flag with the fierce mascot looking down on passing traffic.
