May happen as soon as Sunday, when the transit system’s last union contract expires. SEPTA and the union plan to come to the bargaining table on Thursday.

BART unions sue over contract provision

They want a judge to order the transit agency to abide by the tentative deal that was reached Oct. 21. On Nov. 21, the BART board of directors approved only part of the deal, excluding a provision giving employees six weeks of paid family leave that they said they hadn't meant to include.

Kitsap Transit may contract out bus driver jobs

The agency is citing terms of labor agreements that allow it to contract out bus driving on some routes to keep costs down. The operators’ union argues that the agreement does not give the agency that right.
