The free mobile Internet system from Verizon Wireless will be available on two buses until early September.

D.C. Metro installing wireless service in rail stations

Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel, AT&T and T-Mobile will build, operate, maintain and own the new wireless network. The firms also will build a second wireless network, which Metro will use for public safety and operational communications.

Cricket to provide wireless infrastructure to Chicago

Company recently completed the installation and testing of its base equipment to the Chicago Transit Authority wireless infrastructure. Customers who use Cricket wireless services can now communicate throughout the red and blue line subways.
