Rides for Ridgefield, a new town transportation alliance, will begin service on May 1. The program will provide area seniors and those with mobility disabilities with a single source for ride information and transportation counseling.

With only two part-time staff members, the Ride Partners team relies heavily on volunteers and provided approximately 9,000 trips last year.
The neighborhood service, which gives free rides on weekends to senior citizens and people with disabilities, provides a 15-person shuttle that runs specific routes on weekends and a neighbor-to-neighbor service that pairs drivers with riders.
