N.Y. counties win chance to buy $1 paratransit buses

All paratransit buses will be transferred in “AS IS” condition, with no representations, guarantees or warranties, for the sum of $1 and a contractual commitment to use the vehicles for purposes that benefit the residents of Westchester County.

Westchester County's BeeLine paratransit service currently serves 5,500 registered riders a year, providing 220,000 trips annually.

N.Y. takes delivery of 95 NABI hybrid buses

The 40-foot, low-floor buses are scheduled to replace nearly one-third of Westchester County’s entire bus fleet by the end of the year. County also placed a follow-on order for an additional 11 hybrid powered LFW buses to be delivered in the spring of 2010.
