Silver State Trailways is unveiling a new intercity fixed-route bus service, Silver State Mainline, connecting Doyle, Calif. and Las Vegas.

Through a public-private partnership with the Nevada Department of Transportation, Silver State Trailways intercity fixed-route will connect 10 cities, unincorporated areas, military installations, and Native American and rural communities. The line run will extend from Doyle with stops in Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Fallon, Hawthorne, Tonopah, Beatty and Pahrump before finishing in Las Vegas.

The areas are underserved by public transportation, and Silver State Trailways looks to extend transportation options to these communities increasing resident mobility, economic opportunity and quality of life.

The line run will also provide additional interconnectivity with Greyhound interlining at both ends of the routes in Reno and Las Vegas, allowing Nevada residents and other travelers on the proposed service with additional opportunities to ride the public transit systems in both Reno and Las Vegas.

Silver State Trailways will also be working to courier packages along the proposed service corridor.

The project is supported by Federal Program 5311(f), which provides assistance to fund intercity bus transportation.
