AKRON, Ohio — University of Akron students, faculty and staff can now ride free on Metro Regional Transit Authority (RTA) by swiping their valid Zip Cards in the farebox, reported The Plain Dealer.

The new MetroZip program is funded by $100,000 in the university's parking budget. The university will pay Metro RTA $1 per ride. All regular Metro RTA routes are included in the program, which runs through Aug. 2015 with an option to renew. For the full story, click here.
