$54 billion Sound Transit rail plan to appear on November ballot

SEATTLE — Sound Transit’s board voted to put a $54 billion expansion plan on the November ballot, which would add 62 miles of light rail with stations that would serve 37 new areas and grow the system to 116 miles, The Seattle Times reports.

If voters in Snohomish, King and Pierce counties say yes to the so-called “Sound Transit 3” plan, an average household would pay $400 per year more in property, sales and car taxes. For the full story, click here.
