The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) announced Thomas Perkins will act as its next president/CEO.

In 2012, Perkins joined PERC as the chief business development officer, eventually becoming the council's chief operation's officer. Perkins also served on the PERC Advisory Committee as a chair on the panel on engine fuel. Beyond PERC, Perkins' experience in the propane industry includes executive positions at Inergy Propane and Columnbia Propane and owning his own company, Premier Propane.

Perkins' appointment follows the retirement of current PERC President/CEO Roy Willis. Willis will take on a supporting role during the transition before retiring July 31, 2017.

"We will work to produce innovative, relevant, and insightful programs and services, every day, because we know our performance affects the lives of so many businesses, families, and consumers,” Perkins said.
