IndyGo president fired

The Indianapolis Public Transportation Corp. (IndyGo) fired six-year president Barry Bland. The transit agency's board cited concerns about Bland's "leadership and the direction that the company was headed" as reasons for his dismissal, said The Indianapolis Star. The board voted unanimously to immediately replace Bland. Roland J. Mross, a former deputy administrator for the Federal Transit Administration, will act as interim president. The firing comes at a time when IndyGo is being audited by federal investigators for questionable expenditures and practices involving federal regulations. That investigation includes Bland's potentially improper use of an IndyGo credit card.
