Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) railcars will soon house monitors that will broadcast updated news segments, music and transit service information.

The monitors, which will have closed captioning, are slated to be installed this spring in 115 railcars, as a result of a partnership with MARTA, the Rail Network and WSB-TV.

Officials told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the monitors come at no cost to MARTA, which will receive at least $20 million over the next 10 years from The Rail Network.

Revenue is provided by advertisers seeking to reach the 220,000 daily MARTA riders, the AJC reported.
