NABI participates in 'Stuff the Bus' effort for the needy

The city of Wichita’s Wichita Transit, and North American Bus Industries Inc. (NABI) worked together with Wichita radio station B98-FM to Stuff the Bus, a collaborative effort to help Santa provide for families in need this holiday season and throughout the year.

The transit buses stopped at 68 different locations in Wichita and Hutchinson, Kan., December 1 to 6, collecting gifts donated from local businesses, schools, retail stores and individuals.  Gifts loaded onto the buses included toys, clothing, non-perishable food and personal hygiene items to benefit the Catholic Charities Harbor House, the YWCA Women’s Crisis Center and the Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Center.

During the six-day period, the Stuff the Bus event collected more than 14 bus loads of beneficial items for the shelters, an amount valued at more than $300,000. Another $4,000 in cash donations was also raised.

"That’s what it is all about — helping out your local community," said NABI's Events & Promotions Manager Steve Kratzer. "It’s a fantastic project and all of us at the North American Bus Industries are proud to help our Stuff the Bus partners, B-98FM and Wichita Transit.”
