[IMAGE]Veo-SprinterBus-01-purpleFULL.jpg[/IMAGE] Veolia Transportation, in conjunction with New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA), took delivery of 10 Sprinter shuttle buses with optional side entry wheelchair lift from Daimler Buses North America.

Veolia Transportation is working with New Orleans RTA to offer a newly designed flex route service to the citizens of New Orleans beginning in February 2009.

The Sprinter shuttle buses will operate in areas of New Orleans that are still recovering from Hurricane Katrina in 2005, allowing them to reach other areas of New Orleans where they can then join the regular fixed routes provided by RTA.

The ADA-compliant Sprinter with optional side-entry wheelchair lift offers seating for eight passengers, plus driver, with two wheelchairs or 14 passengers, plus driver, and has successfully completed the seven-year Altoona Bus Test.
