MCI delivers, takes new order

(MCI) received an order from Coach USA for 45 coaches and delivered a D4505 to Gloucester, Va.-based Newton Bus Service.

The Coach USA order includes 27 J4500s and 13 D4505s that will be used for operations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, and five J4500s for its Coach Canada operations.

Coach USA’s coaches come with Cummins engines, ZF Astronic transmissions, Ricon wheelchair lifts and Amaya seats with three-point seatbelts. The new coaches will also feature Amerex fire suppression systems and provisions for GPS installation.

Meanwhile, Newton’s new D4505 is equipped with satellite television, extra-plush seating by National, window shades, seat trays, magazine holders and is powered by a Detroit Diesel engine and an Allison transmission. It is the operator’s first MCI coach since 1981.
