Gannett Fleming opens Newark office

Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design and construction management firm, opened its Newark, N.J., office on Wednesday.

The Newark office will serve as the project office for the firm's work on New Jersey Transit’s Portal Bridge Capacity Enhancement Project, which involves the replacement of a major section of Amtrak's Northeast Corridor between Newark and New York City. The project will double the system's capacity to Penn Station in Manhattan, N.Y., with the addition of three new tracks, 27 new bridges and two miles of retaining walls.

The office will also offer services in transit and rail, telecommunications, rail operations, maintenance facilities, civil and industrial engineering, bridge and structural design, inspection services, and geographic information systems and application development to clients throughout the Newark area.
