Thales to supply signaling system to Turkish rail

 

Thales, in partnership with Alcatel Lucent Teletas, has been awarded a contract extension to supply a signaling and communication solution for Turkish Railways (TCDD).

 

The contract, valued at $16.9 million, relates to a 36-mile extension to two sections of the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed link. As part as this project, Alcatel Lucent Teletas will supply an integrated communication system.

 

Thales's advanced signaling solution, valued at $10.4 million, includes AlTrac ETCS and LockTrac electronic interlocking systems to ensure safe and efficient rail operations.

 

The company is also involved in the Phase 1 project of the ongoing Ankara-Istanbul high-speed link. Thales is implementing a turnkey signaling solution, which includes ETCS, interlocking, network management and rail field equipment systems.
