RailResource.com revamps Website

RailResource.com has rolled out several enhancements to its Website, including a search function that enables users to quickly connect with colleagues throughout the industry.

The upgraded features were demonstrated to customers during the Railway Systems Suppliers Inc. 49th Annual Convention this week in Nashville, Tenn. RailResource.com, powered by data contained in the industry publication "The Pocket List of Railroad Officials," is a one-stop Web portal that connects buyers and sellers through an extensive and fully searchable buyers' guide of railroad products and services.

The upgraded version of RailResource.com features new search functionality for looking up railroad industry contacts at railroads, suppliers, private car companies and industry associations; new capabilities for suppliers to upload and display white papers, product literature, new product flyers and annual reports within their company listing; and improved site navigation and drill-down capabilities.

The site also includes up-to-the-minute rail industry news from around the globe sourced by industry experts; a live, streaming rail stock ticker; a robust transportation industry career center; and a special request for quote (RFQ) function that enables purchasing managers to efficiently distribute an RFQ electronically to an unlimited number of suppliers with a few clicks.

RailResource.com also features blogs written by Kathy Keeney, publisher of "The Pocket List" and a veteran rail journalist and Steve Friedland, director of operations at New Jersey's Morristown & Erie Railway and president of Short Line Data Systems, a rail technology service provider.
