Florida State Senator Paula Dockery will be visiting with South Florida Regional Transportation Authority representatives on Monday, July 27 to show her support for commuter rail in the State of Florida and the attainment of a dedicated funding source for Tri-Rail. Sen. Dockery will be joined by her colleagues, Sen. Dave Aronberg and Sen. Nan Rich. Together the trio will tour various Tri-Rail stations via train, and explore the system's 20-year history and funding challenges.

"From a policy-making standpoint there are many valuable lessons to be learned from Tri-Rail's funding challenge and I am hopeful that these can be highlighted during my visit. I am excited to have the opportunity to see the daily operations firsthand and hear from commuters who rely on Tri-Rail for their transportation needs," said Sen. Dockery.

Sen. Dockery was elected to the Senate in 2002 and represents District 15, which includes areas of Polk, Osceola, Hernando, Lake and Sumter counties in Florida. She serves on numerous Florida Senate committees, including the Transportation and Economic Development Appropriations Committee and Environmental Preservation and Conservation Committee, as well as the Policy and Steering Committee on Energy, Environment and Land Use.
